Message From the Couple
First, for those who plan to make the journey, we are grateful and it wouldn't be a proper celebration without you. We are so excited to get married and to see you all! Second, and perhaps more important...expect to have a good time, meet great people, practice your Spanish( hotel employees speak English) and witness two people and two families come together! We are thrilled to welcome you all and we look forward to the celebration!
Things to know:
- Hotel bookings must be made through our website
-Transportation to and from Hotel can be arranged ( an option will be available when finalizing reservations)
-The Link we send will act as your RSVP and Invitation ( we will send out reminders to those who have not RSVPed)
-plan to arrive Thursday 5/21/26 (especially if in wedding party). Shaye and I arrive 5/20/26(wednesday)
- 2 airports: La Romana (LRM) is 20 minutes from Hotel. Punta Cana (PUJ) is 50 minutes from hotel, but has direct flights
- Destify team will match any hotel deal you find on other websites
- Book your hotel rooms at least 3 months in advance to secure a room. We are not able to book a block of rooms for everyone.
- To secure a room, a deposit of $150/ person ( 2people in party=$300 deposit ) must be made. Good news, this deposit secures your room and will go towards the total cost of your stay.
- We strongly encourage our friends and family to stay at the Dreams Dominicus La Romana.

About Us
We met June 22nd 2017, but It started with hours of conversation over the phone before we would meet in person. When we finally did, Tom made a home-cooked meal, and nailed it because Shaye didn’t suddenly remember she had a gaggle of geese to feed (spoiler: she doesn’t even own geese). Instead, we spent that night talking for hours, and Shaye said what we were both thinking: “I feel like you understand me.” That night, we found the counterpart to our hearts.
Anyone who knows us understands we’ve had our share of ups and downs—“Hey, we all do” (shoutout to Kevin McCallister)—and even split up for a time. But some stories are meant to continue, and ours did.
We left our apartment in Margate, Fl, moved to good ole Palm Coast, FL, bought my father’s home, and joined a motorcycle gang (kidding… kind of). After plenty of house projects, we decided to take a trip to St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands. Over five incredible days, we went on snorkeling adventures (with open bars, of course), explored five different islands, and met some amazing people. Our favorite spot? Coki Beach.
On our third day, after a snorkeling trip, we walked to our favorite waterfront restaurant as the sun set behind the mountains. It was the perfect moment! Tom asked the bartender (who we’d befriended) to take a video—though he hilariously snapped a selfie first—and then Tom asked Shaye to marry him.
And since you’re here reading this, you already know how this chapter ends… she said YES!

Mike Cahill (left) and I have been friends for over 17 years. We first met in high school at Spanish River playing baseball. We later joined the same fraternity at FSU and further down the road, became roommates in Orlando (best roommate ever). We have been close friends ever since our high school baseball days.

Kurt is my father as most of you know. As his only son, I want him by my side on my big day. How my day goes is in his hands as he will be my best man. Good luck!

Matt and I were born in the same hospital 1 day apart (I'm older haha) and have been friends for over 30 years. Not only have Matt and I been best of friends, our families became very close over the years and I am thrilled to have him by my side.

Julian is Shaye's Nephew and I'm glad that he will be standing next to me on my big day. Watch out for this guy as he will be doing some big things in life as he gets older.

Alec and I have been close friends for over 27 years. We met at age 8 playing soccer together at the YMCA and quickly became inseparable. Growing up, we spent most of our time with our neighborhood friends, getting into the kind of harmless trouble young boys often do.

My beautiful niece and bridesmaid, Anya has always been a bright light in my life. We’ve shared countless memories over the years. I'm so grateful to have her by my side on this special day. Her kindness, humor, and unwavering support mean the world to me, and I couldn’t imagine my wedding without her.

Jayleen and I have know each other for 10 years working together at probably the worst company on earth. Our trama from that job bonded us at first, but as time passed our common interested, love for making evil inside jokes and support for one another in all areas of our life turned us from co workers to best friend. Ann is one of those rare people who brings laughter, wisdom, and warmth wherever she goes. She's kind, hilariously funny, incredibly smart, and has been such a steady source of support in my life. Whether I’ve needed a listening ear, a good laugh, or just someone to show up—she’s been there. I feel so lucky to have her in my life and even luckier to have her standing by my side on such a special day.
